Our Supercircuit gives you a full body toning and cardio work out in only 30 minutes and our friendly team are more than happy to help with the little one.

By using hydraulic toning equipment you only apply positive resistance to your muscles on opposing muscles, working the body as it is designed to be worked. This means that you can work on more muscle groups on fewer machines and be far less likely to suffer from muscle soreness and who wouldn't like to get more results from less effort. In between the toning machines are the jogging/recovery stations. These, too, have multiple functions. Each recovery station is sprung making it much easier to keep jogging and this also helps to prevent injury to ankles, knees and hips. The circuit is designed to interval train, this is a little like taking your cardiovascular system on a roller coaster ride - encouraging your heart rate to rise and fall. This is the most effective way of improving the health of your heart and lungs, it also increases your active training area and burns fat more efficiently. The machines can be on one of three settings - light, moderate or strong, and the circuit can be run either clockwise or anti-clockwise making each work out different and so you continue to shock the body and avoid that dreaded plateau. When the machines are on the lighter settings, the way to use the circuit is to go for speed on the machines - this will increase you heart rate but the resistance of the machines will prevent your body metabolising muscle - recover your breath and so control your heart rate on the recovery/jogging stations and then take your pace back up again for the next piece of equipment. When the machines are set to strong, the increased resistance means that you cannot move on them so quickly. These days you will increase your lean muscle mass, the recovery/jogging stations being needed for your cardio work so you will take your knees higher as you jog or rhythmically raise you arms over your head to increase your heart rate.

The circuit is so easy to use. You have no settings or programs to remember, you have no need to alter the machines. Each piece of equipment is used for only 30 seconds and you are advised of when to move on. The quality of workout you achieve on our Supercircuit we estimate would take you a minimum of 90 minutes in a traditional gym.

The equipment being laid out in a circle also encourages social interaction, so you don't feel isolated and alone and it gives you an opportunity to have some adult conversation. Revelation members are very special, women who are happy to offer their help and support, which makes each visit almost like being with family and will probably mean that your little one will end up with lots of 'Aunties', and an appreciation that keeping fit is fun and normal.

The increase in lean muscle mass also encourages the body to raise it's Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), this means that because lean muscle takes more looking after than body fat, the amount of calories you use whilst at rest is higher, so the circuit even pays off when you are not using it.

Having said all this, we must point out that the results you get are directly proportional to the amount of effort you put in, as with all exercise systems, but please build up your strength and fitness gradually - your body will benefit far more if you do and it will also decrease the risk of injury. We also have to point out that diet (sorry for the use of the four letter word) and exercise go hand in hand. Food is fuel for the body and you should always be aware of the quality and quantity of the fuel that you give it.

There you are, you've spent all your adult life at work, or looking after the kids, the house and the husband and suddenly work is over, the kids are married with kids of their own and the husband is either on the golf course or fishing, and if he is at home he is plugged into the internet or under your feet. You're left feeling tired and purposeless. Now is the time to do something special for yourself! Come to Revelation!

You have no need to worry about the 'Lycra Lovelies' or 'Willowy Wendys' here, we are all real women with proper curves. Did you know that once you reach your mid 20's your body converts around a pound of muscle into fat every year? The only way to prevent this is regular exercise, it's a case of use it or lose it. Half an hour of moderate exercise 3 times a week will help improve your muscle tone, give you more energy, keep your mind active, help you cope with stress and generally make you feel alive again, it can also have a positive effect on high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes, to name but a few.

We don't know about you, but we don't like anything complicated and our Supercircuit is so easy to use. You have no need to remember weights, repetitions or programs, you just jump onto the circuit and go. Our machines are hydraulic. Hydraulics accommodate to your level of strength and fitness, it is a program that anyone can do but nobody can out do. Our membership ranges in age from the teens to the 70's, some of whom have always been active and some of whom have just come to exercise. The circuit is made up of resistance machines - to exercise your muscles - and recovery/jogging stations - to exercise your heart and lungs. The machines have been designed to give you a full body toning work out, by treating the body holistically those problem areas tend to look after themselves. Most of the machines have two pistons, providing resistance in both directions. This has several advantages, it means that you work the body as it was designed to be worked and so you are far less likely to suffer muscle soreness or injury, it works opposing muscle groups so you have fewer machines to get to grips with and your work out is far more efficient, saving you time. The machines can be on one of three settings, and again you don't have to worry about this as we have a rota and change the settings for you daily, from light to moderate to strong. There are recovery/jogging stations sited between the machines. These are sprung so even those of us who can't run can manage a jog on them and the springiness dramatically reduces the impact on ankles, knees and hips. The system is designed to interval train, this is a little like taking your heart rate on a roller coaster ride, making your heart beat faster and then allowing the rate to drop again. We do it this way as it is the most efficient way to improve the fitness of your heart and lungs and burn body fat. So when the machines are on light or moderate you work as quickly as you can on them to make your heart beat faster then when the 30 seconds per station are up and you are invited to change stations, you recover your breath on the sprung recovery/jogging squares as you prepare for your next sprint on the machine. When the machines are set to strong, the resistance means you cannot move so quickly, these are muscle building days, so you need to move more on the jogging squares to get your heart rate up. This combination of resistance and cardio work means that the body will burn it's fat reserves rather than metabolising muscle in it's search for fuel.

Having said all this, our system, like all others, will produce results proportionate to the effort you put in. We advocate that you build up your fitness gradually as this allows the body to become accustomed to your increased activity level and reduces the risk of an injury. Now we apologise for the following four-letter word but diet and exercise go hand in hand. Food is fuel for the body and we should always be aware of the quality and quantity of fuel we are putting into the tank.

03Special Treats

Revelation is so much more that a gym. It's your club and we love to have your ideas and input as to how you want us to develop.

We have an on site Holistic Therapist, who is qualified in Swedish Body Massage, a therapeutic massage with the benefit of lymphatic drainage on the second and subsequent treatments to help reduce fluid retention, this treatment is also quite invigorating, Aromatherapy, a deeply relaxing massage using essential oils chosen specifically for each client's personal requirements, excellent for stress relief, Reflexology, a relaxing massage working on the reflex points of the feet which helps to re-balance the body and rid it of toxins, an ancient therapy that is truly wonderful to experience, Indian Head Massage, which is a massage of the upper body, head, neck and shoulders, clothing does not have to be removed making this an ideal lunch time de-stresser. Holistic Facials are a truly relaxing experience with the added benefits of a facial massage with essential oils (if desired), work on the pressure points, lymphatic drainage and scalp massage. A boon to any club, we are sure you will agree.

We have access to a fully qualified hairdresser, who calls in from time to time to offer her services at a very competitive rate, and a lovely job she does too!

If Beauty Therapy is your bag, we have been known to have a beautician on site offering a plethora of treatments, once again at a competitive rate for Revelation members.

Not only but also, we arrange social activities outside of the gym environment including walks for the whole family to enjoy. We are very fortunate to have several off road jogging circuits ranging from a 1km to 3km circuit which can be done alone or combined for the enthusiast. We ran the last 5km Race for Life and trained for it by jogging one minute walking one minute. Our completion times varied from 25.38 minutes to 45 minutes.

If you want a little one on one training, may be to work a little more on your problem areas, or to increase your cardio work a bit, we are more than happy to give you personal training and develop a plan just for you, and we do this at no extra cost.

There is something new happening all the time making the social side of your club as hot and happening as the Supercircuit.

When you want to increase your pace or change the format a little we offer intensive classes. These are available on Saturday and Sunday mornings between 9.00 am and 9.30 am. This is the only time when the circuit is restricted. We also advise that you have made at least six visits before you try the classes so that you are familiar with the circuit. During these classes we encourage you to try a little harder and challenge yourself, this also helps to shock the body a little and keep the results coming. It is also a very positive session and because you have worked hard and achieved a little more, you leave the circuit buzzing with loads of energy for your weekend!
